CommitteesAdministrative Operations/Field Operations The committee plans classes on topics related to safety, regulations, compliance, administration, finance, insurance, workers compensation, human resources, management and leadership. Chair Annual Conference The committee plans the Annual Conference, which includes Projects Preview where utility contractors learn about upcoming projects for bid; exhibits to showcase the latest products and services that your business offers to utility contractors; education sessions; annual meeting; team building activity and banquet. Chair Career Day The committee plans annual Career Day event with high school students to educate them about career paths and provide hands-on interactive experiences to learn about the construction industry. Chair Clay Shoot The committee plans the Clay Shoot Challenge. This event brings together an average of 90-100 people for a day of camaraderie and networking. Chair Dozer Day® The committee plans annual Dozer Day® event to educate the public and enhance visibility about the construction industry. Dozer Day provides kids the ultimate construction opportunity to hop in the driver’s seat and operate equipment. There are fun, hands-on activities for families such as a diamond dig and drainage pipe crawls to introduce kids to our industry. Chair Golf Tournament The committee plans the Golf Tournament. This event brings together 125-150 people for a day of golf, camaraderie and networking. Chair Industry and Government Relations The committee works with engineering firms to provide contractors with a list of projects coming available for bid, works with NUCA of Nebraska’s lobbying firm to monitor legislative and regulatory issues impacting the industry, and oversees advocacy activities. Chair Membership The committee oversees membership recruitment, retention and engagement. Chair NUCA of Nebraska Political Action Committee (PAC) The committee asks members to contribute to the NUCA of Nebraska PAC and selects candidates that will receive NUCA of Nebraska PAC contributions that are supportive of the association and the underground utility construction industry. Chair One Call The committee works with the Nebraska 811 Board to recommend changes to the One Call Notification System law and regulations to protect public safety and improve use of the system for utility contractors. Chair Young Professional Leaders Group Plans social events around the state to connect with young professionals in your companies for networking opportunities, volunteering and workforce development. Our priorities are fun, connections and camaraderie. Support member engagement and developing future leaders for NUCA of Nebraska. Chair |
